My friend and sometimes codefendant
daytonward announced an amusing scheme on his blog called "Where's my book?", challenging his readers to send in fun photos of his books from wherever they may be reading them on summer vacation.
My wife, Sandra, was out of town Memorial weekend, so Ella and I had a little "staycation," doing all sorts of fun stuff. Now, we weren't actually reading Dayton's newest, Open Secrets, over the weekend, but we did have occasion to take some fun pictures of it anyway.
First, we took a long bike ride and snapped the book beneath the Ford Parkway bridge over the mighty Mississippi River.

Did I just mention the mighty Mississippi? Well, here's Dayton's book in the big river, after a fashion.

We also visited the Minnesota Zoo over the weekend. In addition to all sorts of exotic zoo animals, they have a working farm. Perhaps these potential fans would have been more interested in the book if it hadn't been lunch time.

Last, but certainly not least, Ella's favorite animal at the zoo. This is a life study I like to call "Tapir with Secrets."

A special thanks to Ella, my partner in geek fu, for holding up the book everywhere, sometimes in front of crowds of people who had to be wondering what was wrong with us.
